On April 19th, 1928 Craigie finished the final part between ' Wise ' and ' Wyzen '. The New English Dictionary, which a great number of people had dedicated their lives to, was finally completed. The total number of pages in the Dictionary was 15,487 and nearly half of them were edited by Murray. The first copies were sent to His Majesty King George, and to the President of the United States, Calvin Coolidge. (OED, xix-xx)
