Romeo and Juliet, Act III, Scene 1, example 16
As Romeo refuses to fight against Tybalt, his friend Mercutio enters the fight instead of him. Mercutio is very eloquent; one could say that he makes fun of Tybalt's arrogance.
Mercutio: Tybalt, [A]ratcatcher!
Tybalt: What wouldst [B]have with me?
Mercutio: Good King of Cats, nothing but one of [C]nine lives. That I mean to make bold withal, and, as [D]shall use me hereafter, dry-beat the rest of the eight. Will [E]pluck [F] sword out of his pitcher by the ears? Make haste, lest mine be about [G]ears ere it be out.
Tyb. I am for [H], sir.
Romeo: Gentle Mercutio, put [I]rapier up.
Mercutio: Come, come!
