The Use of Abbreviations in SMS-Communication

Abbreviations:
- graphological
- u = you,
- b4 = before,
- f2f = face to face
- eye dialect (when you see it you know how you pronounce it)
- biste = bist du,
- see ya = see you
- shortening of special words
- acronyms (e.g. UN = United Nations)
- clipping (e.g. Prof = Professor)
- syntactical
- ellipses (e.g. love you = I love you)
- one-word-sentence ("Hungy?", "Lunch?")
- Typical for SMS-Abbreviations: leaving out signs and phonemes.
